June 18-19
Eight Jets made it out to enjoy the beautiful, and at times light, weather June 18-19 off of Cleveland Harbor. Saturday morning, the race committee post-poned for an hour or so to let the sea breeze come up. Once the breeze filled in, sailors were treated to an afternoon of 5-10 knot winds. This allowed for 6 great races.
Saturday night, sailors of all classes enjoyed drinks and grilled hot dogs on the EYC deck. It was a great night to hang out with familiar faces, and to meet new-comers Charlie and Bronwyn.
Sunday morning was a repeat of Saturday, with the sea breeze filling in shortly after the fleet arrived to the race course. The wind must have been up overnight as sailors had to learn how to drive in the residual lump. After three more races, the Parkers took top honors, with Marion Zaugg (crew Seth Parker) and Ivan Baker (crew Joe Minard) rounding out the top three.
